In a world that feels so heavy, it was good to pause yesterday and take in again Eduardo Kobra’s powerful mural of Mother Terese and Gandhi, adjacent to the High Line in Chelsea NY.
I stood, contemplating what these two selfless souls might say about our world today. It seemed a very appropriate place to pause and cry out “Lord have mercy, Lord bring peace”.
Kobra, the highly talented Brazilian street artist, is renowned for his signature colourful harlequin patterns. Beautiful colours seem so right when we think of his two subjects here, humble giants who selflessly inspired so many.
In a bleak world, which always needs colour, we’re beckoned to hold on afresh to hope and continue pursuing the beauty of shalom. They’re the things that brighten our world with purpose.
